Namecalling = dehumanizing!

LaRouche is seen as a raving nazi for many people. I disagree with that characterization. It is simplified. But I can understand why many people view LaRouche AND the organization as that.

One part of the LaRouchian method is namecalling. In order to create a gap between the members of the organization and the "enemies", the enemies are given "names" that dehumanize them.

Obama was called a monkey. George Bush has been called a monkey. Olof Palme was called satan. Kissinger has been called just about anything evil that one can imagine. Dick Cheney and Sharon are "pigs", Harry Truman were too, etc, etc... Whole cultures and parts of cultures,a s well as religions, are too given these kinds of dehumanizing names.

The psychology of Bullying/mobbing

By creating a special language, used by the organization, and by calling the enemies all kinds of names and connecting them to all kinds of evil, they create the illusion of moral superiority among the members. And they make it more easy for the members to accept the accusations againts the "enemies" and to spread them. The danger by doing so is that it creates the impression that the namecallers are superior and tthose that are called names are inferior. When children are bullying or mobbing other children one of the things that happen psychologically is that the namecalling against the victim is creating a "we"-feeling among those that are bullying and makes it easier for them to commit crimes against the victim. (There are more reasons, but I choose to focus on this psychology behind bullying for the moment!)

ALL groups that has used this method of namecalling have committed great crimes against all heir opponents when they have gained power. The namecalling/political bullying the communists used before 1917 had its consequences. The namecalling/political bullying of groups in Latinamerica led to slaughter when they got into power. Religious fanatics that call people names and dehumanize their enemies have committed murders when they have risen to power. Mussolini, Hitler and other WW2 dictators did the same in the 30s. Look at the way the nazis or the black cadres of Mussolini pictured their enemies as inferior by calling them all kinds of names! DEHUMANIZATION is the name of this evil political game!

No wonder LaRouche is called a nazi!

I dont believe that Larouche is a nazi, or that the organization is nazi. Nazis dont work withcivil rights activists, Africans and jews to save Africa and Israel! But dont be surpised if the people that once heard a LaRouchian activist call the former Swedish primeminister Olof Palme "Satan" or that read the mad jokes in Ny Solidaritet about Palme, believes that theLlaRouchians in Sweden might be nazis or something like that... Dont be surprised if those that saw the cartoon, that was used in USA and Sweden at booktables, of a monster (Gargantua) urinating over a picture of Russia think that the organization is a bit nazi-like, especially when reading articles about the monstrous russian culture! Or look at the first issue of Dope Inc which quotes the Protocols of the elders of sion, a well known antiemitic forgery... Ok, the book claims that the the elders of sion were not jews, but would anyone still be surprised that the organization by some might be seen as antisemitic, especially when publishing cartoons of Kissinger with a crooked nose, riding on a pig?!

Constant namecalling is fascist, and it is worse than fascist, it is DEHUMANIZING! And if the LaRouchians ever get to power, and work according to the LaRouche-method, the result would be disasterous. This can be seen in the combnation of namecalling and the way LaRouche treats the members of the organization (the slave-labor conditions of the members). But it can also be seen in the concrete proposals laRouche puts forward. In an upcoming post we will take a closer look at his proposal for a Canadian Constitution from 1981 that still is spread ans studied by the Canadian friends of LaRouche.

"In THE EIGHT STAGES OF GENOCIDE, Dr. Gregory H. Stanton (President, Genocide Watch) noted that dehumanization of a people is a step toward genocide and other human rights abuses:
1. CLASSIFICATION: All cultures have categories to distinguish people into “us and them” by ethnicity, race, religion, or nationality: German and Jew, Hutu and Tutsi. Bipolar societies that lack mixed categories, such as Rwanda and Burundi, are the most likely to have genocide. [...]
2. SYMBOLIZATION: We give names or other symbols to the classifications. We name people “Jews” or “Gypsies”, or distinguish them by colors or dress; and apply them to members of groups. Classification and symbolization are universally human and do not necessarily result in genocide unless they lead to the next stage, dehumanization. When combined with hatred, symbols may be forced upon unwilling members of pariah groups: the yellow star for Jews under Nazi rule, the blue scarf for people from the Eastern Zone in Khmer Rouge Cambodia. [...] Though Hutu and Tutsi were forbidden words in Burundi until the 1980’s, code-words replaced them. [...]
3. DEHUMANIZATION: One group denies the humanity of the other group. Members of it are equated with animals, vermin, insects or diseases. Dehumanization overcomes the normal human revulsion against murder. At this stage, hate propaganda in print and on hate radios is used to vilify the victim group.

Nazi ideology presented Jews as "poisonous parasites", as "vermin", "bacteria" and "bacilli". The film “The Eternal Jew” itself compared the Jews to "rats". The 1940 anti-Semitic propaganda movie "Jud Suess," called them "locusts". Hitler described Jews as a "disease", a force of disintegration, and as "parasite" within the body of the people: 6 millions were killed.

But this rhetoric does not target the Jews only.
Name-calling is a way to de-humanize people and prepare for the worse...
In Cambodia, the Khmer Rouges used to call their victims "worms.": nearly 2 millions were killed.
In Rwanda, the Hutu militia called them "cockroaches": 1 million were killed."
